Feral Pig Controls

Experienced hunters with trained dogs are essential to keeping feral pig numbers under control. Feral pigs are known to spread Kauri Dieback, dig up land and crops, and kill small animals.

Why control feral pigs?

Feral pigs cause damage to Kiwi and other native bird and animal habitats, kill lambs and other small animals, spread Kauri Dieback, and damage new plantings (both native and exotic). And, like other large animal pests in NZ, they have no natural predators so pest control interventions are required to keep numbers down.
